Near to the East, in a part of ancient Greece,

In an ancient land called Macedonia,

Was born a son to Philip of Macedon,

The legend his name was Alexander.

Próximo ao Oriente, em uma parte da Antiga Grécia,

Numa terra ancestral chamada Macedônia,

Nasceu um filho de Filipe da Macedônia,

A lenda dizia que seu nome era Alexandre.

At the age of nineteen, he became the Macedon king,

And he swore to free all of Asia Minor,

By the Aegian Sea in 334 BC,

He utterly beat the armies of Persia.

Aos 19 anos, ele se tornou o rei da Macedônia,

E empunhou sua espada pela liberdade da Ásia Menor,

Próximo ao Mar Egeu em 334 A.C,

Ele finalmente derrotou os exércitos da Pérsia.

By the Tigris river, he met King Darius again,

And crushed him again in the battle of Arbela,

Took Persepolis, the capital of Persia.

E os esmagou de novo na batalha de Arbela,

Entrando na Babilônia e em Susa, tesouros encontrou,

Tomou Persepolis, a capital da Pérsia.

E a lenda dizia que quem desatassem o nó,

Seria o governante da Ásia.

Hellenism he spread far and wide,

The Macedonian learned mind,

Their culture was a western way of life,

He paved the way for Christianity.

O  helenismo, ele levou longe e a muitos,

O Macedônio aprendeu sobre a mente,

Sua cultura foi um modo de vida do ocidente,

Ele pavimentou o cominho para o cristianismo.

The battle weary marching side by side,

Alexander's army line by line,

They wouldn't follow him to India,

Tired of the combat, pain and the glory.

O cansaço da batalha, marchando lado a lado,
